the complete beauty of the movie makes it a must see and it's no wonder that it was a fortune to make; the idea of an avatar as well as the creatures of this world rival those of Lucas/star wars; however, most of the movie was derivative of other movies/books (not in itself original) and i didn't really connect with any of the characters.
that being said, go see the movie; it was fun.
