Rocky Balboa meets Robot Jax meets Over the Top. This movie has eye-popping CGI tempered with down to earth live action cinematography that makes for semi-sweet eye candy. The plot is nothing new but, told in this context, seems surprisingly refreshing. I have mixed feelings about Jackman's abilities but he fits into his role well enough so as not to subtract from the sublime storytelling. Real Steel is by no means perfect but to give it less than 4.5 stars would be an injustice. I did not expect a lot going into the theater but left with a little warmth in my heart and a genuine feeling of victory.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

It is not the best movie ever made, but Potterheads cannot ask for a whole lot more from this final installment. While it is not a theatrical marvel it brought emotional fulfillment the legions of fans of the franchise and books. There are no casual fans anymore. You'd have to be somewhat hardcore (at least as far as the films are concerned) to want to see this epic conclusion. It does not disappoint. Not in the slightest.
Good enough for the hype. The visuals were the real stars here. It is obvious that the technology is state of the art. The movie would not have been possible 5 years ago. Don't expect much in the area of good storytelling but expect to have fun nonetheless. I would have given it another half star if it was possible here.
