If you have seen the play, you will be disappointed. The main characters were too old to play these roles, Pierce Brosnan cannot SING, the staging and dancing was horrible, and the father characters were not developed in any way to be interesting. The music was, of course, great but again was not fully developed in areas, just snippets of background music. The daughter was endearing and beautiful, just as the scenery was spectacular, but overall, I was disappointed with the outcome and expected much more. The one bright spot was Julie Walters who was hilarious.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

If you were a fan of the sitcom, then you would LOVE this movie without a doubt! Each story line of each character was interesting and everyone in the theatre was into it. It was great to see each of the gals and their significant others as they were in the series and see how they've all grown but also stayed the same.
