Sylvester Stallone always has the right idea when it comes to the expression of a movie. I was slightly surprised by the movie as the trailers did not do it justice. He gave these guys heart and there was no cheesy, old guy-young girl added in, simply that a person moved him to do the right thing because she stood for something. Never does he come off like some has-been nor are you embarassed by his actions. The rest of the cast is superb and the action is exhausting, of course unbelievable, but this was the point after all. The only part that had bad acting was Arnold's cameo appearance -- but was Arnold ever really that good unless he was playing a stiff Terminator? Oh, and Sly has terrific form in this -- how the heck did he do that?
Yes, I recommend this movie.

I went to see this movie only because Jeff Bridges had gotten 2 awards for his performance -- and they were well deserved. If I didn't know better I would think this had been his life, from the polyester pants with the cowboy belt and boots, the studded shirts and loosened pants and bloated belly, a great acting job and a testament to every worn out, aging drinker and smoker out there -- things change if you change. He deserves the Oscar.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
