This movie is about a country which is half the size of a typical U.S. State and a population the size of Chicago. Despite it's size, Lithuania has produced basketball players that rank among the best in the world and the documentary takes a perspective of how basketball defined this nation's fight for its independence and allowed an entire nation opressed by communism to maintian its individuality.
Although addressing issues such as exile to Siberia and lack of individual freedoms, the movie has plenty of comic relief and overall takes a tone of overcoming adversity with a light and inspirational tone.
Even if you know nothing about Lithuania or basketball, I would highly recommend this film. It is a cross between Braveheart and Rocky- while being non-fiction.
