Mike Birbiglia has a very appealing personality, so it is a pleasure to spend 90 minutes with him. Lauren Ambrose is excellent as his long-suffering girlfriend. While I enjoyed the movie, I preferred the one-man show on which it was based because it had better focus and allowed you to fill in details with your imagination.
Pros well paced, great story, great actors

A slick, entertaining look at the Steinbrenner era seen in the context of the closing of the old Yankee Stadium and the opening of the new. A lot of attention is given to the realtion between fathers and sons.

Remarkable View of Life in China

This film does an amazing job of capturing the lives of the millions of workers who left their villages to work in big city factories. It was so vivid I almost felt I was in China.

Guilty Laughter

There is so much sadness in the lives of the characters that you may feel guilty laughing at their foilbles. But laugh you will. Solondz has an unerring knack for finding the humor in a dire situation.

The blend of animation and documentary is quite unlike anything I have seen. It conveys the damage war does to the soul in a powerful, haunting way. A must-see.
