We saw this movie in 3-D, and it was awesome. I have read all of the books, and I thought the denouement of the story was portrayed adequately in the movie. I love how the actor for Neville's character matured just as Neville did in the book! He grew to be confident and good looking! Of course, I cried during the epilogue. So nice to have a happy ending and a hopeful future for Hogwarts and the children of our heroes and heroines!
Fast-paced, great editing, amazing directing, and unbelievably great acting. This movie delivers the big-bad-wolf reality of a documentary in the sheep's clothing of the story of an unlikely hero that we have no choice but to adore. It's a good thing this movie has a happy ending, because the development is brutally realistic regarding the truly vomit-inducing ugliness of poverty that is all too common in 21st century third world countries. I think the most valuable aspect of the film will prove to be raising the consciousness of many in the world who live in relative comfort. Hopefully, it will inspire world-wide action to fight poverty.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this movie! Mind you, we are in our late fifties, so we were tuned in to the cultural references of the 50's era, the Area 51 thing, and we have seen all three of the Indiana Jones movies multiple times. You could compare the movie to a class reunion--it doesn't necessarily stand on it's own as a great time, unless you are part of the class. Sure, it was over the top in many ways, and certainly unbelievable, but so much fun!
