Not the best movie i've ever seen but not the worst either. I'm not really a Tim Burton fan with the exception of the first Batman with Michael Keaton & Jack Nicholson but I expected more from this film. I didn't even want to see it, my girl forced me to & she wanted to leave halfway though it. I made the best of it but it sure was depressing. I'd give it 3 stars out of 5 just because of Depp.
I paid $14.00 a ticket for mine & my girlfriend's because the auditorium was the director's hall & that in itself was a huge disappointment. Sure you choose your seats & the waitresses are nice & helpful but the so-called recliner seats were normal seats...nothing special. I was dozing off & I couldn't wait for the movie to be over. It had nice special effects & the locations were excellent but the movie itself along with the new cast was lame. I love Maria Bello but she couldn't fit Rachel Weisz shoes onto her feet. Alex was weak, whiny and the jokes were lame. I wouldn't recommend it especially in the director's hall.
