Disappointment

I really like Jason Statham as an actor, especially in his Transporter series..
However, he sleep walks through this movie totally disinterested and without any real emotion. And while you might say he always acts like this, he just was not the same man I admired in other roles he played.
Well, I guess if I were getting the kind of money he was, I wouldt take on any role as well.
What was a real disappointment was the predictability of the plot.
I really like Donald Sutherland in his small role as well as Ben Foster as his arrogant son.
But there was something definitely lacking in this film. I was very disappointed::-(
Yes, I recommend this movie.

The Tourist

A "Sleeper", literally. I slept through much of the first thirty minutes. My wife said I was snoring.
One thing I will say, Angelina Jolie is stunning!
That is about all the highlight I could give except when one agent says, "Is she wearing any underwear.?" I looked very, very hard.
About as boring and cliche a movie I ever viewed. Even the scenery (Venice, Italy) was somewhat boring. Been there, seen it before attitude.
This movie was all about money. Not for us but for the film makers, actors, and movie houses.
What a waste of time!
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Convoluted and absurb

While the plot is intriguing and the minor performances from Brian Dennehy and Liam Neilson are appreciated, the story line and disjointed script make the Puttsburgh police and authorities look incompetent.
Russell Crowe seems to be acting as if he were in a trance.
The movie is about thrity minutes too long and the action way to slow for a moviegoer to fully enjoy this film. If it were me, I'd go for the beautiful woman and mother of his son's firend. She definietly had eyes for Russell.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Wall Street:Money Never Sleeps

This was a very sophicated movie. Not meant for those who are looking for an "action" film.
It's both provocative and timely telling a tell of greed and mismanagement by the banks, lenders and the federal government.
It's easy to see why those in a position of power would be concerned how the public's perception is brought to light.
There is not much we didn't know already but Oliver Stone's interpretation confirms those ideas that were once only myths.
There were many good one liners that will become memorable such as, "It's not the money that is important but time."
Would I recomend this film, definitely but with reservation to who should not be in the audience such as children and the less interested in dialogue.
Michael Douglas is excellent as an older Gordon Gecko as is Josh Brolin as a want a be Gordon Grecko.
My wife and I enjoyed seeing the film after a long anticipated wait probably for several rewrites and concerns with the timing and the current economy.
The film makes a statement: "Told You So."
Yes, I recommend this movie.

With the sumer time blues clearly upon us, and the world economic conditions what they are, this was a really good "Escape" movie. Check your brain at the door and just enjoy nealy two hours of entertainment. Don't try and figure it out the only question my wife and I had; how come Tom Cruise looks like he is 25 years old and Cameron Diaz looks like 45 years old?
She looked almost old enough to be his mother.
But the point of the movie is sit back, get some popcorn and enjoy the beautiful location shoots and the interaction between characters.
I hope hollywood continues to make mindless movies that entertain us as this one did. I especially liked the 1966 GTO!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

City Island

Having lived in New York and visited City Island on several occasions, I could truly relate to this location. As for the movie, every critic I read was absolutely correct. Andy Garcia has never been better, Julianna Margules was truly "The Good Wife" and the supporting cast were equally as talented. Even the small role Alan Arkin played was poignant.
This is a "sleeper" of a movie. It has great cast, great script and great acting. I felt as if I were looking into my own past. Remarkable Film!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Chloe

The set location was the best thing about this movie. It was filmed in Toronto, Canada unfortunately about the time of Liam Neeson's wife's death in a skiing accident.
As another reviewer said, the plot has been done before with a better script.
However, on the plus side, Ms. Moore's character enters an erotic world that I never saw her in before. She was quite good as the "love starved" wife of a man who was too busy too notice as each partner grew more into their professional lives and less into their personal ones. The negative effect played off mostly on the son who witnessed the deterioration of a marriage.
Chloe was a catalyst between this family and, unfortunately, never really believable in her role. This could have been a better movie if the pace were picked up as it moveds along too slowly towards a disappointing ending.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

It's hard to believe that anyone would pan this movie.
There are so few really engaging and funy movies these days. Even TV still uses laugh tracks. This movie never needs a laugh track. Getting back to the movie, definitely see it
and enjoy the interaction of players and plot.
I give it an A++. Enjoy!

The premise is excellent, the movie though drags along at a snails pace, the ugly creatures ridiculous and Dennis Quaid
should stick to comedic roles.
Disappointed would be an understatement.
It could have been a much better movie.
Come on screenwriters, high school journalists could write a better screenplay!
No, I do not recommend this movie.

The Perfect Getaway

An "O,.K." movie that had more potential than it delivered. Steve Zahn is great but gets carried away with his persona.
Other than the Hawaii scenery of Kaui, the
story had amaturist writing and ridiculous
sequences. As an example, one does not fall off a high cliff and immediately regain their ability to act as if nothing happened.
Yes, there are turns and twists but more characteristic of a high school script writer than a professional hollywood writer.
Could have been a much better film than it was. Disappointing!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
