This is a classic Indiana Jones movie, plain and simple. Now, this could be a good or bad thing, depending on whether or not you enjoyed the previous three films, but this review assumes it's a good thing. You can see the classic style is alive and well in the cinematography and dialogue, and in keeping to the style, they tried to use as little of a recent movie innovation as possible: CG. While it eventually became necessary for them to use it, most of the movie is a refreshing throwback to action flicks past which relied on ingenuity and planning to craft their scenes, as well as involving a small modicum of true danger. CG largely eliminated most of that, and IJ4 largely eliminates most of the CG. It goes back to, more or less, the core of Indiana Jones, retains the adventurous spirit, and is a great film for the fans of Indy.
