Hit-ler or Miss?

How can I rate Valkyrie? The movie was okay. I guess. Tom Cruise is a fine actor. And the story told the unknown tale of ze "good" Germans of World War 2. Contrary to "His-Story" and most Hollywood productions, they all weren't bad guys. As a matter of fact, some even wanted to kill Hitler.
But going into a movie already somewhat knowing the ending isn't that exciting an experience. As much suspense and thrills that this film had I just couldn't completely connect.
Valkyrie is a novel concept. Just not personal enough for my tastes. But how about that Wolverine: X-Men Origins trailer? Now that looks like a film I can connect to!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

One Of The Best!

Why do we go to the movies? Is it to just be entertained? I think it's a little more than that. Because a great movie is like therapy. It makes you laugh. It makes you cry. And it makes you connect with your emotions and feelings of eternal love and life.
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is one of those great movies and one of the great motion pictures of our time.
This film is a must see! And as epic and creative a story as Forrest Gump. It's a first rate film worthy of Oscars in every category. Brad Pitt was brillant along side a cast of superb actors. And David Fincher crafted a wonderful film off of Eric Roth's dynamic script.
Watch Benjamin Button and give yourself a Christmas gift to remember!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Spirit Sucks!

This movie was God aweful! Torture to watch! And cinema at its worst! Will Eisner is probably turning over in his grave!
Frank Miller should stick to comic books and leave the movie making to the professionals. The story was terrible, slow, and pointless. I waisted time and money on a bunch of talking heads with nothing of value to say.
And the characters were so stereotypical: White hero, Black bad guy, Sexy Latina and with no real subsatnce.
I should have seen Valkyrie, Benjamin Button, even Marley and Me! This was the first Christmas release I saw and the worst film I've seen since Mall Rats!
I want my money back!
No, I do not recommend this movie.

Powerful Story!

The trailer did not do this film justice. It is an incredibly well acted, well directed, and well written movie. The plot unraveled beautifully keeping me entertained and on the edge of my seat the whole time.
Will Smith reunites with his Men in Black 2 co-star Rosario Dawson for a gripping tale about a mysterious good samaritan.
Thier performances are exceptional, belivable, and passionate. It was like night and day comparing Rosario's Eagle Eye "acting " to this. It show's you how a skilled director can really contribute to bringing the best out of a star.
Unfortunately, the message of this movie didn't sit well with me in the end. You decide.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Yes! Jim is Still Funny!

I got a good few laughs out of this one. It was a nice pick-me-up after watching the disturbing Slumdog Millionaire. Life can already be depressing. I don't need a movie to make me fell that way.
The light, fun humor of Jim Carrey in Yes Man took the edge off me. He still hasn't lost his "In Living Color" touch. Wouldn't it be cool if he teamed up with the Wayans again! Now that would be some funny stuff!
There was a postive message in this film that I won't give away. Go see this one and find out why "YES" isn't such a bad word after all!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Slum Doggy Dog!

Let's talk Hip-HOP: Gangsters. Street kids. Hookers. And COPS. But instead of New York City or Los Angeles as the back DROP let;'s travel to another country. STOP!
How about India? Throw in a popular game show and welcome to a gripping film that unearths India's dark underworld through the eyes of a child. Where the ghetto life of two brothers is poignant, disturbing and as twisted a tale as Oliver Twist on acid!
Take a trip on the WILD SIDE with Slumdog Millionare! And let me know what YOU think!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

This movie had me all shook up! I was laughing! I was crying! I was completely moved by the innovative characters and unpredictable story!
It's nice to see a holiday move from a Latino perspective. Especially when John Leguizamo and Luis Guzman round out the exceptional cast!
Nothing Like The Holidays captures the love, drama, and comedy of the season. And you don't have to be Hispanic to relate and enjoy.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Get Up! Stand Still!

All I gotta say is this movie is worth seeing just for Jennifer Connelly's performance. Man! Can she act! And she's good looking too!
I wish I was that excited about other aspects of the film. It did hold my attention from begining to end. But it felt like Independence Day Part 2 and I wasn't sold on Little Will Smith's character. Having recently seen "Australia" the kid in that movie set a high bar when it comes to a child acting.
However, I think Obama would agree that this movie's message of "CHANGE" is a valid one for our times. But when is a Brother From Another Planet going to touch down on earth?
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Setting The Example!

I accidentally saw this movie and loved it! Sure I'd seen the trailer. But it looked like a rental. So I passed it up on opening and subsequent weekends. However, since I've been racking up points using my AMC Movie Watcher Card I got a voucher for a free ticket and Role Models was the only movie I hadn't checked out..
At first I thought I'd blown my ticket. The set up was a little contrived. But as the movie progressed I became attatched to the characters and entertained by their antics.
Having been a tutor in the inner city, I could relate to the situations and found myself crackin' up!
In the end, I'd have to say, Role Models is a feel good movie that's worth watching!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

True To The Comic Book!

This movie would have made a great comic book! It had the tough hero, the wacky villians, action, and lots and lots of violence. Although it was true to the comic book, it just didn't hold up to quality cinema standards.
The plot was average, and many of the scenes felt staged. However, there was some good acting and the relationship between Frank Castle and the little girl kept me emotionally attatched to the characters.
Punisher War Zone was better than I expected. But it still ranks as a B-movie that would be better appreciated as a home viewing with DVD extras.
Reading Marvel's Punisher comics is much more entertaining!
No, I do not recommend this movie.
