I had to work this Memorial Day. So as soon as the whistle blew, I raced to the cinema to take in the # 1 movie in America!
Night At The Museum 2 on the IMAX was a joy ride from beginning to end; theme park style! And with a cast of unforgettable characters taken right out of history, it was one to grow on.
Ben Stiller and friends bring the comedy in a sequel that lives up to the first, and even takes the series to another level.
It was great to also see Owen Wilson back in the saddle and Robin Williams (with his Jumanji spirit) back as Teddy Roosevelt not once but twice!
This feel good movie for the entire family, not only made my NIGHT but it made my DAY!!
Terminator Salvation was cool but it fell short of my expectations. From the trailer, ad campaign, and history of the series, I thought this movie was going to be totally awesome!
However, when I came out of the theater I felt short changed. Granted, the special effects were sweet. But that's not the only reason I go to the cinema.
Christian Bale's performance was the best thing about this prequel. The story was predictable, too simple, and a little illogical. If all the elements were as good as Christian, this flic would have been an A+ in my book.
Fortunately, this installment didn't completely wreck the Terminator franchise for me. When the next film is released, I'll Be Back!
You might think this flic is all about glorifying the gangster. Well...kind of.
And just like Gangsta Rap, this one gives you a creative criminal fix! Plus there is a moral in the end. Benny Boom did an excellent job crafting a crooked tale with a cast of unusual characters from the 'hood.
Mike Epps leaps past his "Friday" roll in this one. The Latina Yasmin is really funny and just F-I-N-E: FINE! And my man Mos Def is off the chain!
It's too bad this is the only time you really get to see a group of strong ethnic actors carrying a movie without a White lead; when they play criminals.
But even Denzel received an Oscar for playing a crooked cop, not a hero. That's Hollywood for you!
Prepare to get beamed up like never before! Because the newest Star Trek film on the IMAX screen is an experience like none other!
Visually fantastic, here's a movie that really MOVES! I felt like I was in WARP SPEED!. The action was non-stop. The story was completely brilliant and entertaining. And the cast was just phenomenal!
I think the last Star Trek movie I saw in theaters was The Wrath of Khan (1982). A big round of applause to J.J. Abrams for giving life to a dying franchise! His resurrection is hip, adventurous, and full of laughs!
Find out how it all began in this stellar Star Trek for THIS generation!
I mean, that's what I thought when I first saw the trailer. But a funny thing happened. As I saw it more and more the film began to interest me.
But then along came Wolverine and I almost forgot about this film. According to its opening weekend box office (didn't make top 10), I wasn't the only one who forgot.
The theater was like a ghost town when I went to see it. You could almost sense the tumbleweed. One small family and I made up the entire audience.
In the end however, the movie wasn't that bad. It had a positive message even though the story needed work.
Lionsgate should note the American animation formula if they want to pack the house: Cute Talking Animals!
Newspaper reporters & politicians get into a clash of the titans as they come together to solve the mysterious murder of a young woman in this suspenseful and dramatic thriller!
State Of Play gets an "A" for its excellent cast! The acting in this film is the best of the best, and worth every penny to see. My opinion of Ben Affleck totally changed after witnessing his stellar performance.
And Russell Crowe did a fantastic job as an investigative journalist with an edge. The entire cast made you really believe in this story. Almost as if it were a documentary.
Unearth government corruption with the stars in this 2009 "All The President's Men"! Go see this one citizen! And don't forget the popcorn!
