Straight Outta Comic-Dom!

Marvel Comics and DC aren't the only publishers getting the Hollywood treatment these days! Here comes Oni Press with a very nice graphic novel to film adaptation courtesy of Warner Brothers.
And who better to star in this suspense filled drama than the most talented and beautiful Kate Beckinsale! Remember the first two Underworld flics? Well, she's back, and delivering another dynamic performance!
Director Dominic Sena has taken Greg Rucka's comic book and turned it into an unpredictable and innovative action-adventure.
From the ice cold climate to the red hot murders, "White Out" will have you on the edge of your seat, wondering "Who Done It?"
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Not Your Ordinary Puppet Show!

This movie was really different. And the action sequences were incredible!
It's a little too spooky for kids. But who says animation always has to be for the kiddos!
The voice cast was splendid! I could tell John C. Reilly off the bat. Elijah Wood and the gang really braught this film to life.
The story was a little vague at times. But when you combine The Matrix with The Muppet Show something strange is bound to happen!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Mind Control Derby!

Gamer has a real sophisticated storyline under all the outrageous music video style visuals and effects.
Gerard Butler was the draw for me. He's a great actor and pulls this character off well. He's got that Stallone toughness that action fans will enjoy.
For all the video game-heads, you'll get a real kick out of the gaming environment and the futuristic cyber space platform.
John Leguizamo makes an excellent guest appearance. But the directors could have left Ludacris out of this one. Stick to the rapping homie!
The film is action packed and addresses mind control and bizarre cyber personalities. It makes you wonder:
"Who's really behind the front?"
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Silly Cinema!

If you are in the mood for some totally silly cinema, then "Shorts" is the movie to see.
The characters are cute and the adventures are funny. But this ain't no Disney film! So be prepared for some off-the-wall storytelling.
Where's a token Black kid when you need him? I guess African-Americans don't live in Robert Rodriguez's Texas suburb. Somebody call Bun B!
Spy Kids, Desperado, and Sin City were much better films. Could the mastermind behind "El Mariachi" be running out of good movie ideas?
Yes, I recommend this movie.

"Inglourious" is a brilliantly executed World War 2 picture that is most entertaining!
.With Tarantino as the writer and director you can expect real suspenseful scenes, hip dialogue, creative characters, and intense violence. He is a powerful voice in cinema and his message is clearly expressed here.
Brad Pitt does a fantastic job as a relentless G.I. and the performances in this movie are stellar and very dramatic
Sergio Leone would be proud of the films pacing, cinematography, and soundtrack.
Check out the glorious new work of the man who revived John Travolta's career! You won't be disappointed!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Ponyo is Absolutely Amazing!

The innocence of love and childhood are beautifully expressed in this wildly entertaining Japanese animated feature presented by Walt Disney.
The East really have a different perspective on LIFE, which can totally be seen in this delightful film. They really know how to creatively capture the fundemental nature of people and their dreams.
The visuals are quite cinematic and extraordinarily colorful. While the story is rich and heart warming.
The English voice cast give life and spirit to these cartoon characters. And Liem Nesson's voice acting is very impressive.
Ponyo braught out the kid in me. Take the little ones and let it bring out the kid in YOU!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Close Encounter 2009!

Holy Cow! This movie was totally awesome! The preview gives nothing away. It was so much better than what I expected!
The documentary style fimmaking makes this fiic seem so real. And the South Africa setting was very creative in providing a novel backdrop for an alien encounter.
With edge-of-your-seat action, the story intelligently examines the brutality man is capable of, and the importance of human / alien rights.
Like a snow ball rolling down a hill, District 9 picks up momentum as it moves along until it is going full speed ahead!
This is one of the good ones people! I can't wait for the sequel!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Fighting For Freedom!

I've been a G.I.Joe-head ever since I was a kid. I use to collect those cool Hasbro action figures and all that! Use to watch the after school cartoon and everything!
So you know I had to check out the midnight screening of the live-action feature. And yo, I loved it! To see my old toys come to life in a modern day movie was a complete thrill ride!
The Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow conflict even remained true to the 80's Marvel Comic adaption, and gave the film that extra punch!
And it was great to see "La Haine's" Said back in action. While Dennis Quaid and Marlon Wayans performances made the G.I.'s worth watching.
Forget this troubled world and go enjoy yourself with the Joes!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Very Funny People!

Adam Sandler and Seth Rogen are a superb comic duo! They really work well off each other and have an organic chemistry together.
In this movie, the unpredictable story of a dying comedian unfolds in a very creative way, as we learn about his triumphs and his failures in life and love.
The all-star cast brings a new generation of comedians together with the veterans! And the cameos are like the icing on the cake. Appearances by the Rza, Eminem, and Sarah Silverman were a riot!!
I laughed a lot at the humor, jokes, and funny situations and characters. Prepare for a liftoff as Sandler and the gang take you on another heart warming and hilarious rocket ride!
Yes, I recommend this movie.

True Romantic Comedy!

The Ugly Truth was fantastic! I was totally entertained! And I laughed a lot!
Gerard Butler and Katherine Heigl have a great on-screen chemistry. Their story really illustrates the importance of "friendship" in a relationship.
This is a perfect date movie! And even a single person (as myself) can enjoy it.
For a romantic comedy, there were some really cinematic moments, especially the scene with the hot air balloons. Simply breathtaking cinematography!
If you can avoid "G-Force", do so, and go see this one!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
