This is not a very good movie. It's well made and execution is near flawless on every level, but the story is just not very good. Indy just moves from place to place conveniently being found, or finding what he needs, or simply thinking for a few seconds and coming up with an answer. Makes me long for the good old clever goodness of "Raiders." Remember when they realized the German had melted only half of the amulet's message into his hand... "They're digging in the wrong place!" Well, there's nothing even remotely that clever in this movie. 90% of the humor is Indy homage or camp. Remember the awesome folding hanger the German guy had in "Raiders"? or when Indy shot the sword fighter? Nothing that funny in here. Nothing even close. Again, action and direction are all superb, but lots of movies do that well. I wish George Lucas would hire Lawrence Kazdan to write a good story for him.
