Here is the deal... Spielberg and Lucas had so much potential; the budget, the actors, even the plot was decent. Where did they go wrong? I know that CGI is an always growing and exciting knew technology in film, and often times it is cheaper than actually setting up and filming real shots, stunts or scenes. But I felt like I was watching a cartoon. It was the same feeling I had in the new star wars films. There was no sense of reality, no sense of this is actually taking place. Secondly, the plot involved a lot of extraterrestrial type beings... which just put it over the top as being cheesy. Granted, I don't expect an atheist to view walking across an invisible chasm based on faith in Yahweh any less sci-fi than aliens. But there seems to be a little more credibility and scholarly weight within the 2,000 year old biblical text and church tradition than the national inquirer. Feel free to disagree. Overall... save your money on seeing this one.
