Pochahontas meets blue people. Basically some of the storyline seems vaguely derived from the legend of Pochahontas, but much more exciting, more fascinating, more effective. Not a bad thing at all, in fact, a rather accurate insight into human cruelty and the rise above it. It's definitely a movie that will keep you on the edge of ur seat, the side of ur seat, standing on ur seat.. ^^ GO WATCH IT! and then think about compassion.
As long as you don't expect a moral lesson or some kind of human understanding, this movie will be ok. I guess I personally need movies to hold some kind of deep meaning, but that may be much too high of an expectation. The movie title is detailed enough to seem interesting, but it's really not.. I found myself staring blankly at the screen as the predictable, cliche action scenes and effects flashed back and forth. The thing here is, if you find Greek mythology fascinating, or if you're looking for an eye-appealing movie just to pass the time, then this movie will be perfect for you. All in all, it's an ok action movie. Keeps you awake at least.
To all readers of Harry Potter, I strongly advise to approach this movie with very low expectations. Only then can this movie be somewhat enjoyable, at the very least. I've noticed over the years, the director does a good job with detail sometimes, but seems to leave out the main events that is crucial to making the movie MAKE SENSE. There is a gaping hole in the sequence of events. Such as the fight scene at the end was missing; in it's place stand many unanswered questions. Only those who have read the books will fully understand everything that is going on, but at the same time be very disappointed. Either way, this movie was not as phenomenal as the previous ones. Thankfully, i appreciated some of the humor.
The movie deserves two stars for the upscale action and on-the-edge of your seat effects, one star for the kids' acting, and one star for the attempt at a touching ending.... but the ending was definitely not satisfying. There are many questions not answered, one that makes you wonder why the movie started off where it did and then ended with a question mark at the end. It wasn't a "to be continued..." movie. It just broke off at the end. If you're taking kids from the ages of 7 to 12 to see a movie, this might be a great choice. however, if you're looking for something a little more deep, look elsewhere.
One star for the cute mouse, one star for the nice animation, and the third for the attempt to give a good moral about forgiveness.
Some of the events that happens throughout the movie were just so strange and stupid. I expected it to be barely ok, and I was right. The only thing that keeps you going through the movie is the need to see if something good happens at the end. It's not a horrible movie, but it shouldn't be a top pick of the night for your family. And speaking of family, a lot of kids were crying through the movie.
When the credits rolled, one wailed, "CAN WE GO NOW?!"
I was dragged to go watch this movie. I would not recommend this. It should be a LAST RESORT.
The first thing you probably think when you watch the Bolt commercial on TV is that it won't be a good movie. That it will be something weird and corny, a movie meant only for little kids.
Then you actually go watch the movie and realize that there's meaning to the story, a little message to humans, some pretty good humor, creative ideas, etc.
Watch it. You might just like it as much as the kids.
If you have read the bad reviews of Kung Fu Panda and are expecting a really bad movie, think again. Altho it's true that it is not the most exciting movie ever or anything, it has a good message. Movies are meant to entertain, not preach, you say? Kung fu panda brings a kind of entertainment and humourous air to the theaters that is simple but pure. I would say, give it a chance. And seriously, pay attention to the movie! You may find out or rediscover something about life.. about us as humans, in the films Kung Fu Panda and Wall-E.
Don't be fooled by the fact that it's Rated G, viewers. Just because it doesn't have gory scenes or sexual jokes doesn't make it a lesser movie than the ones remembered in history. It is a decent movie that is much better than those kinds of movies.
Wall-E is a fantastic movie with a very meaningful and stunning message. The fact that there are moments of silence lets the scene or the actions in the movie, linger. The animation is spectacular, by the way. It allows you to see something that the screen itself is not showing. The message behind the movie is not just about some funny robot doing random things, as some kids may think. It is much, much more than that. Parents and adults will find themselves understanding the concept of how Pixar portrays the risk of the human world in the future... if we are not careful. If you are bringing along children, don't be surprised if they ask you why you're crying or why something in the movie happened. It's overall a good laugh and enjoyable time for kids and adults, but the BRILLIANT meaning itself probably can only be understood by people older than 10 or above. Wall-E is a masterpiece that every single human in the world should watch this year, and remember forever. Oh, and by the way. I'm only 14.
Don't listen to all the people that criticize the movie, it is truly an entertaining ride. You'll find yourself gripped onto the screen the entire movie, not being able to tear your eyes away for even a moment. i didnt even go to the bathroom because i didnt want to miss a thing. when i dropped something, i didnt bother reaching down cause i was so into it. There are one or two very minor flaws in the movie, but you won't really notice it. I thought the acting was very good, the visual and sound effects were AMAZING. you really feel like you're THERE. the comedy is very clever at some points, you'll smile and laugh at loud with the rest of the audience. The audience, oh man, they really got into it. There was cheering for the excellent parts and booing for the bad guys, laughing at the comical areas. But I don't wanna spoil anything so i won't make any comments about the storyline, but you have GOT to watch it. Just don't expect a completely perfect movie, and you'll really, really enjoy it. It's worth the 2 hours. The time flies by SO fast, seriously. You'll wish that there was a 3rd movie. If there is, i will surely go see it.
