In the case of the Indiana Jones series, one must take the storylines of the respective films with a grain of salt. That being said, I found "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" to be even farther-fetched than any of Steven Speilberg's three previous installments. On numerous occassions, I found the plot to be quite laughable. While I realize that the shear disregard for realism is to be taken lightly, this element was achingly prevalent throughout the film. Nonetheless, the film proved to be immensely entertaining. George Lucas isn't about to be nominated for his screenplay, but he still knows how to enchant an audience, as well as pay respects to the Indy of the second millenium which most of us knew. Fans, both die-hard and casual, will notice references to the previous three movies throughout. Overall, while I wasn't surprised by the film's lack of realism, I was disappointed by it. However, if you can shut your brain off for two hours, this one is worth seeing.
