Stunning special effects and above average comic book intrigue make this the best super-hero movie to date. If I was only allowed to see only one movie this year, "Iron Man" would my choice.
Photography and production are very good. Creature special effects have an interestingly eerie quality, due to the unique mixture of an animation and claymation flavour to them. The story line and acting are nothing special, but are well suited to this nicely put together comic book tale.( Be sure to look for a cameo appearance by the origanal T.V. Hulk)
Stupid,Slapstick, Funny-that sums up this movie in a nutshell. Although there are some parts of this movie that are strictly cornball, there are other scenes that are downright laugh out loud hilarious. If you need 2 hours of nonsensical humour to help you forget about $4 a gallon gas, give this flick a viewing.
On par with " the best of the best " animated movies to date, this genuinely heart warming story will strike a positive nerve with every member of the family, from grandpa, to the little toddler. In addition to an elusive human quality which is often missing in digitally created media, the artwork is strikingly beatiful and the character acting is completely believable . Sir Review Alot says, " To see this movie is to avoid disappointment ."
Other than a very realistic re-creation of 1950's America (thru the use of antique auto's ect. ect.) , this film leaves much to be desired. Ford's acting seems strained and uninspired. The story line is so far fetched that it is unbelievable even in a fantasy movie.Example- they fall over not one, but THREE waterfalls and nobody so much as even sprains an ankle. In one scene Indiana breaks the nose of his ex-partner and the next day there is not even a slight mark on the guys face. Find yourself a good DVD to rent instead of wasting money on tickets for this poor excuse for an otherwise good series of Lucas Films.
This movie starts out a little slow, but like a powerfull locomotive builds up a level of intensity that carrys it thru all the way to the final destination. The production and photograpy is not on the same level of a movie like Iron Man, but the acting and story line , and the way the movie is put together kept me on the edge of my seat without the typical " I already know how the movie will end halfway into the picture". I strongly recomend this picture.
