This movie was primarily comprised of stupid/silly slapstick humor. As corny as it was, I still give this flick a three star rating for absolutely stunningly realistic T-Rex special effects.
"Miss March" is so hopelessly entrenched in the gutter, I felt uncomfortable and dirty watching it. A bar of soap and a shot of penicillin should come with the ticket........... Well, that was just one of many extremely poor reviews that I have read about this movie, but I can tell you this: There wasn't a dry eye in the entire theater, due to viewers laughing out loud so hard, that tears came to their eyes. The kind of laugh where you try to hold it in, because you realize just how stupid/funny the jokes are, but then you hear the person next to you start to laugh, and a chain reaction sets off. The mood of the audience will determine how entertaining this movie is, and I guess us Floridians must be pretty depraved.
This is a difficult movie to rate because the humorous scenes were so ridiculously laugh out loud funny, yet the serious sections consisted of nothing more than soap opera flavoured codswallop. In fact ,the funny stuff was so good that it was almost worth sitting through the drama (if you could call it that) to get to the next comedy scene. I didn't have high expectations going into the theater, therefore I wasn't disappointed.
"Coraline 3D"-- Stunning 3d animation/visuals and a uniquely different take on the "Alice in Wonderland" theme made for an exceptionally brilliant movie, destined to be a cult classic.
This movie was enjoyable, but I felt the action scenes were a bit overdone. Liam Neeson single handily kills large groups of people when the odds are ridiculously stacked against him. If Hollywood had given him a red cape and called him "Super spy" it would not have been an exaggeration of his performance. I still liked the movie , but would have really liked it had it been made more believable.
I especially liked this movie because it did not have your typical Hollywood plot and did have an interesting twist to it at the end. There were times that I actually thought Mr. Eastwood was doing a "caricature" of himself from previous movies, combining the grunts, sarcastic lines, and facial expressions that made him so famous in the Dirty Harry and Western Gunman movies.
"Valkyrie"-5/5- Brilliant photography, special effects, and production. The acting was also dead-on. I got the feeling I was watching both a historical recreation and a suspenseful movie at the same time. To see this movie is to avoid disappointment.
Although this certainly was not a GREAT movie, I'm finding it hard to rate it as black as some people paint. The acting was good and the special effects were not bad either ( but not spectacular). I enjoyed the movie, and I did not hear alot of people cursing that it was a "waste" of money after it was over. I feel that it captured the emotional essence of the original, but that is an intangible quality that some people might not experience.
