Great character acting, and some genuinely emotional moments, but somehow I felt the movie missed it's mark. There was something about the fight scenes which wasn't quite right. I enjoyed it anyway, but had it been tweaked just a little bit differently, it could have been a great movie. 2.75/5
Let's see now....How best to describe this movie? Campy with an overindulgence of gratuitous wall to wall violence. Yet it all works, as if the sum of the parts is greater than etc etc etc............ 2 thumbs up. (4 stars for the entertainment factor)
Best bank robbery movie since "Heat". You feel as if your in the thick of the action, with a good storyline to boot. Fast paced with excellent acting, production, and editing.
It's almost as if this movie was created just so Matt Dilon could say the famous line "Man down". This movie was just an enormous collection of cliches which have already been done much better in other movies. Pretty much a clone of "Heat" without the brilliant storyline and production. Blah
I think it is a given, that any creation by Disney/Pixar will have state of the art animation and cinematography. Having said that, this flick ups the ante with a tale that will melt the hearts of all that are wise enough to see it..
Although the plot was slightly confusing, the basic theme of this movie was very similar to that of the Matrix. However, instead of shared experiences in a computer controlled virtual world (as in the Matrix), the characters assembled and interacted with each other in group/shared dream sessions. The acting, special effects, and production were all quite good. Had the plot been presented in a more digestible format, I would have given this movie 4 stars.
