Springsteen and I is one of the Best Films of the Year, the best documentary I've seen in a while. Kind of like watching a video on the beginnings of a religion. There's an amazing montage watching Born to Run being played in a small club in London in the mid 70s and then watching the band's confidence grow as each tour you see the venues and the crowds grow bigger. Until you see Bruce play it in Hyde Park in London in 2009, before 200,000+ people. The movie moves at a locomotive speed as we jump around the world watching home movies of fans explaining why they love his music and what he represents to them. So many funny moments and so many gripping moments as people explain occurences when they got on stage with him and then watching live video of that moment. The Elvis impersonator story might be the best of all. What will someone who hates Bruce think of it? They'll be rolling their eyes and jerking their hand, but for those who love him or want to understand what the phenomenom is, they will be transfixed. But don't leave when the credits rolll!! Like any Bruce show there's about 48 minutes of encores, including a really great surprise!! 5 Bananas!!! (out of 5 according to the NoMoreStinkymonkeys.com website)--Fred Rueckher
Saw the new Indiana Jones for the SECOND time Saturday night and have to say I enjoyed it much more than the first. After waiting 19 years for the next installment of my favorite film series maybe I was too hard on it Opening Day. Watching it again, I was able to apprecioate how fast paced it was and inventive in its action sequences. Plus the dialogue is mostly brilliant and the acting is aboveboard for the most part. Ford and Karen Allen are having fun and Cate Blanchett is perfect. Da Comrade, go see. The Freditor
