Too Much Angst, Not Enough Wit

Twilight does well with the danger, teen angst and swooning, but completely leaves out the wit and charm of the character of Edward for 80% of the film. As a result, Bella's character seems like more of an idiot for falling for him as the only attractions are his looks and bad boy status. I'm at a loss for why they left out some of the fun, short and clever exchanges that define these two character's relationship in the books.
That said, I think they nailed the Cullen family and Bella's relationship with her parents. This will mostly satisfy fans, but I think those who have not read the book will be at a loss as to why this relationship is supposedly a romance for the ages.
