Crystal skulls present an interesting dilemma for archaeologist....one which should warrant an interesting story. Somewhere along the line, however, Lucas and Spielberg learned to put an alien in a film for ratings. As per the earlier Indy films, they should've relied upon a use of myth and folklore specific to the region, the inhabitants, and the relevant time period to shape a more interesting story.
