Both Emily Blunt and Matt Damon did great jobs in their roles; however, for me, this was just a cheesy spin off of City of Angels. There was never really any true plot nor action. I was disappointed. I'm glad that I went during matinee time. I would have been upset to spend 13 bucks for this.
Albeit, Angelina Jolie is a beautiful woman and Johnny Depp is a wonderful actor; however, this movie was horrible. The plot was Jolie walking around strutting and smirking. Beyond that, where was the substance? Where was the action?
I used to be such an Adam Sandler fan. In the days of Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, etc, he was on top of his game. His movies have now become predictable and tiresome. After reading the reviews of this movie, I thought I'd give it a whirl. I'm glad that I went on discount Wednesday. The usual suspects are in this movie with him. I think it's great that he uses them in all of his films; however, the delivery was just not there. There were some funny moments, but overall, it was just a tiresome attempt for Sandler to be nostalgic and show that he (as all of us) is getting older and wants his kids to know the fun he had growing up.
First, let me say that I absolutely loved the first Sex and the City. This movie, however, was a disappointment. There were some funny scenes, but for the most part, there were too many planted laughs and predictable plots. Sarah Jessica Parker did not do a good job this time in her acting role. Kim Cattrall is always great, but she played the oversexed older woman a little too much. Chris Noth was divine! Overall, there were some cute moments, but I would not see this again.
This was a wonderful heart touching story of a teenager trying to find herself after her parents' divorce, discovering her father has cancer, and dealing with just being a teenager girl "in love" with the hunky summer boy. The actors were awesome in this movie, including Miley Cyrus. I admit that I was not a fan of Miley, but she pleasantly surprised me with her believable performance. There were a few quirky areas, but I think it worked well into the movie. Kelly Preston was great as usual. I loved the fact that the movie used "She will be loved" in this movie (given Kelly Preston was in that video). Great tie in. I am a huge Nicolas Sparks fan. I was disappointed with his last movie Dear John, so I was anxious to see if he redeemed himself. He did. This movie isn't The Notebook level, but it definitely supercedes Time in a Bottle. A great family movie.
The concept of the movie was great. However, the actual movie was horrid. There were gruesome moments but none of the movie clicked. I think that the author "thought" the ending would be a surprise. It was predictable. Don't waste your time.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

A wonderful love story in a breath taking backdrop
This was a wonderful movie. Amy Adams is refreshing and a wonderful actress. I had never heard of Matthew Goode, but I thought he did a wonderful job. There is just the right mix of romance, drama, and comedy. A chick flick for sure, but it's a wonderful ride.
The countryside in Ireland is absolutely amazing I'm planning a trip there this fall now just so I can see it.
Rachel McAdams is one of the most talented actresses I've ever seen. She does a beautiful job playing Claire. Eric Bana does a great job playing Henry as well. They have amazing chemistry together on screen as well. For the movie, it just didn't flow. Of course there were many poignant moments in the movie that made me cry; however, the back and forth time travel made the whole movie far too disjointed. Having just seen 500 Days of Summer pull off the nonlinear movie plot, I was somewhat disappointed in this movie. It just left me saying Hmm that really wasn't what I was hoping for in this movie. I won't throw the baby out with the bath water. There are great moments, just not an overall great movie.
