Went to this film with our son(age 11), who loved the Nick cartoon series. Special Effects were great, but felt the story line too choppy to follow if you had not seen the entire TV series. I expected there to be differences in the movie. 400 mins of cartoon into 100 mins of film, something has to be cut. In one sense, M. Knight stayed true to the spirit of the cartoon version, but I found in many ways, it was lacking. Personalities were shallow, key characteristics altered. Dialog was much too "modern". Casting seemed questionable, at best. The most annoying part, for us adults, was the different pronunciations of character names from the cartoon. We kept thinking, "that doesn't sound right." Still, our son didn't seem to mind any of that....he loved the movie and can't wait for the next one. So, in fairness, I'm giving this 4 stars, but I hope the next film impresses me as much as the first one impressed my son.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Well, this is a really cute, funny family film. We don't usually see the animated kids movies in the big theater, but I was not disappointed. It had enough for adults & kids to laugh about... and the mandatory "tear-jerking" momments as well... but over all, a very nice story.
Crystal skull doesn't have the "edge of your seat" opening of the first film; it isn't as dark and gloomy as the second; it's not as funny and charming as the third film. That said, it is still a good movie and any fan of the series will enjoy themselves. I wish more time was spent on re-building the relationship between Jones and Marion. The plot is predictable but is that really why we watch? No, we want to see crazy people doing impossible things .... and having fun doing it!
