The animation is dazzling. The message is timely. It seems Pixar has decided that they have reached a level of popularity that gives them a platform for saying things they think are important. I hope we all got the message.
So dissapointing. Karen Allen was wasted with not enough to do, as was John Hurt. Cate Blanchette and Shia LeBeouf were given too many stupid things to do. The story was pure lunacy and made the other Indy films look like Shakespeare. Wait for video
This is deeper than your regular comic book movie, but it is a comic book movie, not "Citizen Kane." The effects are cool, Jason Bateman is hysterical, and the twist is worth the price of the ticket.
I'm a Hellboy newbie, but I loved this movie. My fanboy husband and son were over the moon. The creatures were fantastic, the laughs and scares balanced just right, and the action sequences were cool. The story is silly, but has it's own internal logic so it never tips over into stupid. It's a comic book movie, friends - enjoy the ride!
