I liked it, but I haven't read the books

As an adult who has endured many awful children's movies, I can safely say this wasn't one of them. I quite enjoyed it and didn't want to know what time it was during the entire film. I thought the soundtrack was clever given that it was a kids' movie and I liked the cast. BUT I haven't read the books. My children have read all the books and they didn't mention anything that bothered them continuity wise so I think it was a win all around.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
