I'm a fan and regular reader/collector of comic books (DC basically) and most of the time, whenever one of these comic book movies comes out it makes me cringe because it seems like Hollywood goes out of its way to make me feel silly for reading comics. And lately there are so many of these movies too. Every once in a while, a comic bok movie comes out that reminds me why I am so into comics and Iron Man is definitely one of those movies. You don't need to be a lifetime fan of Iron Man and you don't need to like comics to enjoy this movie, but if you are a fan and if you do like comics, this one's for you. No matter what you see or read about Robert Downey, Jr., he never disappoints and this movie is just another example of why he is such a great actor. But most of all, it's nice to know there exist extremely talented actor/directors like Jon Favreau who not only know how to make a great movie, but actually care about the people who go to see that movie. Jon lets his respect for moviegoers and comic fans shine through here and that's refreshing. Iron Man is what summer movies are all about and what comic book movies should be all about. This movie and The Dark Knight will make summer 2008 one to remember.
