Kid Movie?

I thought the movie was adorable, however, my 5 year old was unable to comprehend the story of Carl, the loss of his wife, and the meaning behind his journey. It was also funny to hear every parent in the theatre explaining what was written in book pages to their children as every child stared at the screen of words and asked what it said, clearly understanding that they were missing some important part of the story. My child and her friend, age 5, also both burst into tears crying when Kevin the bird was kidnapped, and I had to calm both of them down and convince them that everything was going to be fine. I thought the story in itself was nice, but not age appropriate for the audience that the film was advertised for.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
