Went in not expecting much, came out not having received much. The majority of the movie was dedicated to the building the love story between Savannah and John, and very little of it developed the surrounding characters, who later become quite relevant to their relationship. Coupled with poor acting skills the movie felt very one note. You want to buy their love story, but they shove it down your throat to the point of nausea. The most intriguing portions of the movie involved John's father, played by Richard Jenkins, who gave a heart tugging performance. The ending just felt wrong. If you do a tearjerker, commit to it. Don't have second thoughts with a cop out ending.
