This movie was definitely for a specific crowd: the 20 adn 30 somethings who read this book as a child ourselves, and enjoyed experiencing it in movie form. However, it was way too slow, and uneventful for children. The themes were over their heads.
As for adults who didn't read the book growing up, the movie will seem ridiculous, and won't make sense.
SO, if you're an adult who enjoyed the book AS A CHILD, not with your child, or without enjoying the book, you will enjoy the movie :)
