I was incredibly impressed with this movie. Not only was it a good love story, but it showed the incredible sacrifice that our troops experience when they are torn between their homes and defending their country. The character development is fantastic and the love story is actually believable - unlike many valentine's day movies. My wife enjoyed it almost as much as I did. A great date movie!
This movie was surprisingly wonderful. I challenge every rich Christian (which is pretty much ALL of us) to watch this movie and prayerfully consider taking someone into their home. Remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 25:34-36 - 34 “Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. 35 ‘For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; 36 naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.’"
This movie had me on the edge of my seat for the entire two and a half hours! The CG effects were amazing, especially on the big screen. I highly recommend you see it in the theater to get the full effect. I enjoyed it thoroughly!
This is basically a snapshot of what postmodern, immoral relationships look like. Marriage is downgraded as an ancient, meaningless ritual. Fornication and adultery are encouraged. It tries to sell the ethic by showing that some people end up 'happy' but the whole story isn't there. All sin leads to misery. Try the movie Fireproof instead for a glimpse of real, lasting happiness rooted in loyalty, relational fidelity and biblical ethics.
