Spectacular is the word that came to my mind as I was leaving the theatre last night. Although the order of events was changed slightly and the filmmakers did take a little bit of license by adding a hint of romance between Susan and Caspian (something I remember imagining on my own when I read the book, and I think that's what happens in a grownup's mind. I wonder what it would have been like if kids had been in charge), all of that pales in the glory of this wonderful film. It is every bit as good as the first one, if not better in some ways.
The reason for that is due to the genius of the author of the series. The genius of the filmmakers is that they had the humility to be true to the story as C.S. Lewis meant it. No one could improve on C.S. Lewis and I'm sure the filmmakers realize how stupid it would be not to simply portray as accurately as possible the beauty and metaphorical meaning of this wonderful, magical and yet completely true tale.
