This movie is the stereotypical sequel. The overall experience and quality of the movie is definitely a step down from the first one. It is not like other recent movies based on series of books where the quality of the films is maintained or even increases as they progress through the series. Although plot follows the books reasonbly closely, the themes and feel of the movie are much less true to the book than in The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. Also, Disney seems to have narrowed the target audience for this movie: it seems to be aimed primarily at younger teens and preteens - those who are young enough to idolize Peter and Susan, rather than having the mass appeal to a wide range of ages like the first one.
