Engaging, Gritty, Real

A well-done film, mostly historically accurate (visually and factually) with a great cast of supporting actors. Depp reigned in the character a bit, perhaps too restrained in his performance, but provided an insightful glimpse into the rough world of pre-cosa nostra gangsters. Marion Cotillard is a scene stealer; remarkable. Christian Bale was a little flat, but offered an interesting portrayal. If you like historically based flims, see this.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
