What a Ride!

Although I wasn't a huge fan of the original series (preferring Next Generation instead), my wife and I decided to see what the fuss was about.
We both loved it. The mixture of action, suspense, comedy and nostalgia for the original series was awesome. The movie started quickly and then went even faster from there.
The actors nailed the quirks and personalities of the original characters, and the movie left me wishing the entire series could be redone in a more modern fashion with the new cast.
This was a movie that didn't bow in homage to the trekkies, and didn't take itself too seriously. In fact, the actors showed far more range and seemed to be more into their roles.
I'll be buying this DVD!
Yes, I recommend this movie.
