An excellent movie. Ledger is brilliant as the joker. And Christian Bale shows a depth to Wayne/Batman that draws you in. My only complaint is that when he is speaking as Batman, his voice is often so low and gravely that it is difficult to catch what he is saying. Very dark, very disturbing, but highly entertaining. It will leave you wanting more. Please Christopher Nolan, make a third!
I adored this movie. The plot line/character development is not as detailed or intricate as the first movie, but that didn't really bother me. I am a huge fan of the books, so I knew enough to fill in the blanks. The cinematography and special effects were unbelievable. I was brought to tears several times by the pure majesty of the creatures, trees, Aslan, etc. I did think it was a little too violent for young children, although there is little blood and no gore. Maybe it should have been rated PG13 since almost the entire movie centers around death and warfare. That aside, I can't wait to go see it again and just drink in the beauty. Man, I wish Narnia were a real place.
