I am a bit of an action snob and have to have some substance in my movies too. The first iron man really took you to the grit of violence and I was hoping they did not cartoon this one up too much. If this movie were for my kids and not me it would be about the power rangers or whatever junk they watch nowadays.
Rourke(whiplash) was great, would like to have seen more of him. His character had alot to offer and was reduced to a series of one-liners. Plot was ok. I agree that the bickering between starke and pepper was overdone, but then again several items in the movie were kinda overdone. They didnt ruin it, and while it did not give me shivers of joy like the first one did, it came across more as a developing sequel, leading into another storyline for ironman. Oh and someone please tell the directors that the fancy schmancy flying through the air while body climbing the bad guys is good when your needing some eye candy, but just annoys people looking for a real action sequence.
On the plus side you get to see iron man upgrade his suit a little more. The action scenes are starting to look like the old iron man movements, and you get to see some of the relationship between starke and his father.
