When I say it is way better than Shrek, I mean that Dreamworks has really found that niche for movies that appeal to a wide audience. They did it with Shrek to begin with, but they took that storyline too far and stretched it out through too many movies. This Kung Fu Panda movie is something you don't see at the box office every year. Jack Black was the perfect voice for Po, the Dragon Warrior Panda. There were also the great supporting actors. The storyline was something you wouldn't expect from the previews. All I thought I was going to see was some fat Panda trying to get fit and learn martial arts. But the storyline was much more detailed than just that. Also wound up in all of this was a great message to the kids (Never give up your dreams, more of course, that is just one). I say you should see this movie, and if you think its bad, tell your friends to go see it anyways.
This movie was defiantly worth staying up late to see! I really enjoyed the retelling of one of my favorite books in the Narnia Series. If you haven't seen the first movie or read any of the books, you will be lost for certain. The movie doesn't quite hold true to the book, what with the thing between Susan and Prince Caspian which never happened, but hey, its Hollywood. The rest of the movie was on key. It was a very emotional movie, just like the book. This is another movie to see or as some would say, "put on your list!"
I had heard a lot of bad hype about this movie. Everyone I talked to seemed like they could care less. I decided to drop the $9 and see the movie because I used to watch the cartoon when I was younger. I expected the special effects to be top notch, what with universal light and sound being on there, and I was not disappointed. The acting was better than I had expected as well. Some had said "Yah, but they got that guy playing speed, I ain't gunna see it!" and my reply to them now is "Yah, well you missed out!" If you haven't seen this yet, why are you still reading this? Go out, buy yourself a ticket, and go see the best movie so far this year!
