Go See Speed Racer! Go!

AWESOME!!! Thanks to the directors, producers and everyone involved in this movie. It helped me relive my childhood. I have all 52 original episodes of Speed Racer on Collector's Discs and VHS, and this movie could not have done any better on keeping true to the story.
They amazingly brought these anime characters to life on the big screen. John Goodman as Pops Racer was phenomenal. His facial expressions and grunts were almost identical to the anime Pops. Racer X's motions and voice were an exact real life duplicate of the anime character. Spridle and Chim Chim were hilarious. My 5 year old boy was in hysterics at their antics.
Speed, Trixie and Mom were all OK, although I think that they could have gone with a younger actress for the Mom. Also, they really could have done without the swearing and finger. It added nothing to the movie.
This movie is kind of like the Three Stooges. People either love them, or hate them. For most females, this movie will do nothing. For most men, they will think it's cool, especially if they have kids.
For any true Speed Racer fan, though, you will probably end up having goose pimples and be close to tears as I was. To be able to enjoy this with my son and pass along something that was so special to me in my childhood is truly a blessing. Thanks again for giving me a truly moving movie experience.
Forget what the critics are saying, Go and See Speed! It's a fun movie.
