Very, very good, but not awesome. The quality of the work going into the screenwork is as good as it can be, but the story starts off slow. The 2nd half makes up for a lot of it, pulling things together, but not enough to make up for what could have and should have been a more entertaining beginning.
I took my kids (10, 9, and 4) to the movie. The movie was awesome and enjoyed it more than them. The first part was a little too rough for my 9 and 10 (daughters), who stepped out for a moment, but once he rescued himself, everything was fine. They loved it after that.
PG-13 is correct. Don't take it wrong, awesome movie. Look forward to seeing it again with older company.
Took my 10 & 9 year old daughters and soon to be 4 year old son, they loved as did I. The actors/actresses were perfect fits for their roles. It was entertaining and family oriented, which is great. that said, being a Speed Racer fan from my days of watching the cartoon, I think there could be a super major hit to this in a version without the animation, and just live characters, such as done with Iron Man.
