This movie was presented differently than I thought the movie was to be presented as I watched the trailor. However, once I got over that shock, I was overwhelmed with the naturally curious nature that Ben approached the subject. The documentary is not about the debate of the origin of man, but our right to have a legitimate and logical debate about the origin of man, since none of us were really around when that happened, nor do we have iron clad proof of how that happened, it leaves the question still for us to wonder and figure out. Ben presents the world view and mindset of those on the two sides of the current debate. He presents the current majority thinking of Darwinism and how those who have a descenting opinion, such as Intelligent Design, are being shoved out of the debate, some losing their jobs or not having contracts renewed for academic teaching positions--not based on their performance, but for teaching or in some instances even mentioning Intelligent Design in the classroom. My definition of intelligent design has been expanded in this movie and I am grateful to Ben for his brave and bold move, knowing he would get very harsh criticism from those who do not believe a debate exists. Thank you for reading my review.
