Excellant remake of the Dudley Moore original with Russell Brand using his own "brand" of humor in keeping the original themes intact. Kudos to Helen Mirren for her interpretation of Hobson. Art direction and cinematography was superior to the original.
With the wonderful 3D special effects that Pixar knows how to utilize this flic also provides several moral life lessons for all ages to admire and ponder.
Great homage to the original series ......excellent explanation and introduction of characters....great action and special effects.....excellent IMAX........leave past/future contridictions alone !
Same gory techniques employed as in the other Jason movies as he predictably dispatches all the young adults. Only salvation of quality in this flic is the quality and quantity of breasts displayed by the female victums.
After an entertaining opening 30 minutes of satire, spoofs, and character introductions this movie loses it focus and cannot decide on where it is going and loses its established shock values. After the first 30 minutes, I never thought that I would say that a Tom Cruise character would add much needed comic relief.
Stan Lee and company scores ,once again (along with Iron Man) this summer in providing another entertaining movie going experience.Marvel is a master at combining grade A actors with good screenplays, excellent editing, excellent cinematography, and state of the art computer generated animation. This was a particularly surprising feat because of the, relatively ,recent release of another good Hulk flic. Also, what other movie enterprise could provide the surprise sequel foreshadowing endings that are fast becoming a Marvel trademark?
