They finally got the franchise right

I'll keep this short-- outstanding cinematography, costumes and characters. Ledger as the Joker was incredible; his portrayal will live on as the best one yet. I can't wait for the next one!

Fun Summer Blockbuster

Overall, Robert Downey, Jr. made the role of tony Stark his own, instead of overacting or forcing himself into it (see Eric Bana as the Hulk or Ben Affleck as Daredevil... even the second two Spiderman movies lacked a convincing lead.) The special effects were spectacular and they set the movie up for a sequel; at the very least, we can hope to see some cameos from the Avengers and War Machine in the future. Paltrow was a bit lackluster, Bridges gave off a creepy vibe from the onset, and Terrence Howard seemed a bit soft, even effeminate for a fighter pilot. But all of these character flaws made only minor blips in an otherwise entertaining movie. Take your buddies, take a date, take a kid-- either way you'll enjoy it!
