Great animation; story seems familiar

Avatar had wonderful graphics, great characters and a story that moved you. However, the story bore strong comparison with other familiar tales - mix the American Indian story of Pocahontas with Lord of the Rings (when all clans/creatures come to aid in the battle for the homeland) and that's what I was thinking the entire time. All in our group (teens to adults) loved it though. You couldn't help but root for the native population in the end. A winner of a movie.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
