best movie I've seen in a long time

Here is a little anecdote to sum up:
When I sat down in the theater I noticed how crowded it was becoming with mainly teens and 20 year olds. They were loud and goofy during the previews, so I cringed, imagining how disruptive they would be during the actual movie.
I was in for a surprise. The theater was dead silent aside from the moments of 'oos' and 'aahs' and moments of laughter.
Everyone was so engaged in the film that it was one of the least disruptive audiences I have ever been in. I basically forgot I was in a crowded theater.
You just have to see it for yourself.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

What could have been a rather original film turned out to be somewhat typical, and the special effects were lacking and even seem goofy most of the time.
It's not to say it wasn't entertaining but definitely not one of the must-see films in the theater. Save your money for Journey to the Center of the Earth if you're into the sci-fi stuff, or go see the marvel movies if you haven't instead.
No, I do not recommend this movie.

THE BEST Marvel movie ever made so far, Robert Downey Jr is Tony Stark incarnate. Finally a marvel film that isn't a complete abomination. While fanboys will complain about some differences in the film and the comic, the director did a superb job of changing things to suit a more general audience and make it all the more appealing than the original.
Fun, action-packed, and EXCELLENT special effects (Ironman actually looks real instead of like Spiderman where you could tell it was totally fake CG) I'd recommend this film to all people not just marvel fans.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

not what you'd expect

First of all it would depend on who I would recommend this movie to, it's not for everyone, and I think it borders as a 3.5 star rating.
With that aside, this movie was a lot like The Karate Kid or even moreso like a Kid in King Arthur's Court, except with much better choreography and much better visual appeal. It is not your average Kung Fu movie and is more family orientated. The story is very linear and predictable especially toward the end.. (almost sickeningly predictable especially if you've seen either of the above movies).
However I enjoyed Li and Chan working together and I think there is a lot of great scenes and the fight scenes are great too (that's what you watch a Kung Fu movie for anyway). The kid in the movie is a rather dry character, obviously supposed to be like Shia LeBeouf except Shia LeBeouf couldn't do kung fu.
I wouldn't go in expecting this movie to be pure awesome just because of Chan and Li--a lot of it is kind of corny and typical, but it wasn't a total let down and I found it amusing and enjoyable.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
