Marvel has outdone itself with the production of their latest film, "Iron Man." The trailors and teasers couldn't do this film any justice, although they did showcase some of the better special effects. Unlike so many films we shell out our hard-earned cash to see, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the producers had hired people with the ability to act to portray the characters in this movie. Of course, there were the memorable one-liners that Marvel comics has become famous for, but the film's plot most certainly didn't hinge on them. The trailers released leading up to the film promised a special-effects-heavy action flick. There was plenty of action, even the most easily-distracted moviegoer will have no complaints about "slow bits" during the movie. The special effects were fantastic, and extremely realistic. Between the excellent special effects and the heartfelt acting, I had no trouble at all losing myself in the world they created for us. So often, these made-from-comics movies leave us sitting there throughout most of the film, inundated with obviously contrived special effects and simply unable to make ourselves believe what they're showing us on the screen. That's not true of Iron Man! I never thought I'd say this about a movie... but I hope they make a sequel soon.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
