Gay or straight or any flavor in between you cannot help but be touched by the inspirational power of Harvey Milk's journey from unmotivated 40 year old to galvanized public servant.
Through personal loss and triumph he perseveres with a sunny optimism. I can only imagine what he might have accomplished had he lived.
The performances are exemplary. Josh Brolin plays Dan White as a deeply conflicted man. Penn's Milk is an example of complete and effective immersion in a role...I forgot it was Sean Penn about 2 minutes into the film (I've never really been a fan). I can't recommend this highly enough. Go. See. It. Today.
