IRON MAN, the first picture from newly-financed Marvel Studios, is a great start to the summer popcorn season. Absolutely true to it's Tales of Suspense beginnings (albeit with here-and-now canonical updates), the movie is well-cast (even the cameos -- look for Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan), well written, and almost plausible in its pseudo-scientific explanations. While the ending is the requisite (and eminiently predictable) superhero vs. supervillain clash, the movie is a fun, funny ride getting there. Stay for the closing credits and beyond...
Yes, I recommend this movie.
