If you saw the original as a kid you have to take your child to see this remake. In many ways it was better than the original because of the film scenes from CHINA. They were beautiful. The plot is basically the same, but changed slightly to fit the move to China. My 7 yr old daughter loved it as well did I.
My 7 year old daughter liked the movie, but there were a couple slow spots for kids. The story is very educational in teaching the value of working hard for what you want. Well worth the $ and time.
I was looking forward to taking my 7 year old daughter to this movie ever since I saw the first ad over 2 months ago. Although I was slightly disappointed it was well worth taking my daughter to see. 3D was good and she wasn't afraid of the ghostly scenes. I did talk to her about them before the movie just in case.
The storyline leaves something to be desired if you're an adult, but the special affects keep the kids entertained. My 6 year old daughter loved it, but even she had to say the first one was BETTER. Still worth going to see.
The 3D seemed to be great at the start of the movie , but loose its effectiveness as the movie went on. My 6 1/2 year old daughter enjoyed the movie although she had a rough time keeping the HUGE glasses on for the entire movie. I guess as long as the kids are happy it is money well spent. Adults see a lack of story line.
